Welcome

Welcome to the Radding Family Reunion Blog

The Radding family reunion--the descendents of a large set of cousins who arrived from the area around Riga about the turn of the 20th century (1900)-- is currently being planned for Thurs., Aug. 2 through Sun., Aug. 5, 2007 in Lakeville, CT.

In subsequent posts, you will find more details on the event and more comments from those planning to attend and those who are still thinking about it.

For now, if you have any questions or want more information, contact Fay, faysplace@aol.com or Pearl at pearl@omsoft.com

Looking forward to seeing as many Radding as possible in August.

Alan

Hi everyone, My name is Ellen Rowles and I live in East Longmeadow, Mass. I am the daughter of Josephine Radding Roberts. My Mom was one of three daughters of Lena and Julius Radding. I am planning to attend on Saturday and, as of this writing, bringing both of my college aged daughters with me. Alot of my memories are very foggy about the Radding clan and I can't wait to meet you all and learn more. ellen

Great to hear from you. My two college age daughters will be arriving at the reunion on Friday night and staying through the end. I'm sure they will be delighted to know that people their age will be there. Alan

Dear Family,
It's very exciting to be holding our first ever family reunion. Fay and I have enjoyed finding relatives all over the U.S.
I am busy working on our genealogy. Please send pictures, both from past generations and your current family. It is easy to have old pictures copied. Longs Drug on the West coast makes copies. I'm sure there are compreble places on the East coast.
Does anyone know how to reach Barbara Radding Morgan, the teacher/astronaut for NASA? I would love to tell her about the reunion.
Remember to reserve your room reservation by May 1st.

Hi Family,
I'm so excited. The reunion is building more momentum. Every day new Raddings are signing up. We will all be meeting all sorts of new relatives. You can't afford to miss this one!!!!!
Please offer to help. A list of needed help went out this week. And don't forget to send pictures to me of you and your spouse, your parents and your children.
Fondly, Pearl

Where are Bernhardt Radding's descendants? Does anyone know? His daughters married into the Blands and Karps. We'd love to tell them about the reunion.

Hi, I am Wendy, the daughter of Donald, who was the son of William. I am not sure who William's parents were, as he died before I was born. If I had to guess, I would say Julius, but I don't know. I am hoping to join the family in August! FYI, Shirley Radding on the west coast did quite a bit of geneology a number of years ago.

Hi.
I'm sorry that we won't be able to make the reunion, but I'm really pleased to see this happening.

I'm Joseph Radding, son of Leigh (born Leo) Radding, grandson of Joseph Radding (son of Bernhard Radding).

I sent what info I have to Pearl. I'm looking forward to seeing all the various bits and pieces of data come together to form a more complete picture.

Hi,

Josh Radding here, writing from Cupertino California. I live in San Francisco, so if there are any other Bay Area Raddings around, get in touch: jradd24@mac.com. For a little more info on me, visitn my photo-site: web.mac.com/jradd24

I am one of the Baltimore Raddings, but, as seems to be the case with a good portion of our family, have found myself moving everywhere else over the last decade.

My father Andrew has the bulk of the info connecting us to the ancestors, but he probably does not know what a blog is;), so I thought I would drop a comment to say hi for our entire family: Andrew, Bonnie (nee Levinson), Judy (now Collins) and myself and my wife Yasmine.

I know my parents will be attending the reunion, and I am trying to make it work. In the interim, or after reunion, if we want to build a website beyond the blog, let me know and provide the necessary information. I am happy to build it.

I have always been interested in our geneology, but have never been able to find any information, so I really can not express how excited I am.

Thanks to whomever got this ball rolling, I can't wait to learn more and meet other Raddings, if not at the upcoming reunion, at R2 wheneverr and wherever that may be!

Peace,
Josh

Amending what I said before, William was the son of Jerome, the brother of Joseph. Hoping to make it to meet you all.
